1992 Massachussets - New
York (USA) |
| |
Thanks to Merano-born Ido Merlini,
who now lives in the USA, the choir decided to make its first trip
overseas when we were asked to take part in the Five Hundredth Anniversary
Celebrations for the Discovery of America. The Concordia gave a number
of very successful concerts and was presented with various official
awards including a plaque of merit on behalf of the Italian consul
agent Giuseppe Polimeri and from Carmine Captano, the director of
the organisational committee for Columbus Day. |

1996 Massachussets - New York (USA) |

Another trip to America and with wider
horizons this time. The choir gave a concert in the state of Washington
DC and sang on numerous occasions at Italo/American clubs. The singers
received much official recognition and a certificate of appreciation
from the mayor of Pittsfield, Edward M. Reily, and the Italian vice
consul Guiseppe Polimeri. |

1998 Brazil (Juiz
de Fora) |
| |
Concordia was the only European choir
to be invited to the International Festival at Juiz de Fora. The choir
again presented numerous concerts and was complimented on the original
character of the songs chosen. The members were also invited to sing
during two programmes on national television. Official recognition:
It was a great honour for our president, Masimo Amort, and our conductor,
Vincenzoi Vittorio, when they were asked to authenticate the first
edition of a new postal stamp which is of particular value to collectors
everywhere. |

2000 Massachussets (USA) - Canada |
| |
Concordia was invited for a third time
to a tour in the state of Massachusset where the choir sang for various
clubs of that state which the members already knew. They gave prestigious
concerts at Pittsfield (MA) and at Troy (NY), sang in Central Park
and also at Montreal in Canada.
Official recognition: It was a great honour for all the choir members
when the mayor of Pittsfield, Gerald S. Dojie, presented them with
the keys of that great city. |
